How We Helped
Choice Energy supported Active Steel with a comprehensive energy strategy that combined commercial solar systems with C&I energy procurement. This dual approach allowed the company to offset rising energy prices and improve long-term sustainability.
Active Steel has made significant strides in reducing energy costs across its sites. In Penrith, NSW, a 35kW solar system was installed, projected to save $18,240 annually and an impressive $763,000 over 25 years. At their Park Ridge site in QLD, an 82kW solar system is expected to deliver $36,000 in yearly savings, with long-term savings of $1.5 million. This installation also qualified for a $42,000 instant asset tax write-off in 2022, further boosting financial returns. In addition to solar, Active Steel secured a competitive 3-year energy procurement contract at the Park Ridge site, resulting in an additional $84,000 in annual energy savings.
C&I Energy Procurement, Penrith: Another 2-year contract resulted in an annual savings of $14,000.
